President's Corner

Every year, I look forward to the magic at the end of April.  By this I mean MAWNY !! For those of you who don't know what MAWNY is it is a 1 day magic convention in Batavia, NY.  This convention is called Magicians Alliance of Western NY. The best part of MAWNY is that it follows the FFFF convention.  Therefore, the over spill of talent usually is incredible.  

 

I just received today my invite for MAWNY from Dick Bently.  The magician's on the roster are awesome.  The close-up performers are Henry Evans, David Stone (one of my Favorites), Lennert Green, Shawn Farquhar, Ace Spade, Ken McCreedy, and Karl Norman.  The evening show performers are Francis Tabary, Bruce Kalver, Tony Montana, Richard Pinner, Pilou, Tim Ellis & Sue Anne Webster, and Andy Dallas.  If you were counting that was 7 Fism Winners, 1 Grand Prix Fism winner, 2 past SAM Presidents, and a magic author.  That is a boat load of talent right there.  To top off all the fun of watching them perform there is also a Dealer room and a Auction.  That is an awesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Instead of painting, plumbing, mowing the lawn.. and countless other chores that can probably wait.:) 

 

Now that I have taunted you with the specifics you probably want to know when it is?  This year MAWNY is on the 25th of April.  I know I will be going.   I hope to see you all there.
